KPA General Staff Says It “Will Take Powerful Practical Military Countermeasures”

DPRK state media released a statement (tamhwa) on 4 April (Thursday) from a spokesman from the Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Staff which said the “”the towering resentment of the DPRK’s army and people has reached an irrepressible phase as they are all out in the all-out action to defend the sovereignty and prevent a nuclear war of the U.S.” and that “no one can say a war will break out in Korea or not and whether it will break out today or tomorrow.”  The KPA General Staff also announced that it is “in charge of all operations will take powerful practical military counteractions in succession as the KPA Supreme Command had already solemnly declared internally and externally.”

According to the KCNA, the KPA General Staff’s spokesman statement said:

A touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula.

U.S. formation of B-52s based on Guam flew into the sky above South Korea all of a sudden to stage a drill under the simulated conditions of a nuclear strike at the DPRK and formations of F-22s took off from Japan proper and Okinawa and were deployed in the Osan air force base in south Korea to watch for a chance to make a surprise strike.

B-2s flew into the air over waters of the West Sea of Korea from the U.S. mainland and nuclear- powered guided missile submarines and guided missile destroyers of the U.S. Navy which had been operating in waters of the Western Pacific are busy sailing in the West and East Seas of Korea.

It was reported that super-large nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and its group will enter the waters off the Korean Peninsula soon after leaving waters of the Indian Ocean or the western coast of the U.S. mainland.

South Korea and waters around it are turning into places for display of various types of nuclear strike means of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces and a dangerous hotbed of a nuclear war in the true sense of the word.

The U.S. high-handed hostile policy toward the DPRK aimed to encroach upon its sovereignty and the dignity of its supreme leadership and bring down its social system is being implemented through actual military actions without hesitation.

Days and months have passed on this land amid the constant danger of war but never had the whole Korean Peninsula been exposed to such danger of a nuclear war as today.

Under this situation the towering resentment of the DPRK’s army and people has reached an irrepressible phase as they are all out in the all-out action to defend the sovereignty and prevent a nuclear war of the U.S.

In view of the prevailing situation the world people who love justice and value conscience are unanimously becoming critical of the U.S. and its followers for their disgraceful behavior of prodding the UN Security Council into adopting “resolutions on sanctions” against the DPRK and vocal expressing concern over the situation on the peninsula.

The moment of explosion is approaching fast.

No one can say a war will break out in Korea or not and whether it will break out today or tomorrow.

The responsibility for this grave situation entirely rests with the U.S. Administration and military warmongers keen to encroach upon the DPRK’s sovereignty and bring down its dignified social system with brigandish logic.

In view of this situation, the KPA General Staff in charge of all operations will take powerful practical military counteractions in succession as the KPA Supreme Command had already solemnly declared internally and externally.

We have already sent a strong message to the present puppet authorities and military of South Korea following in the footsteps of traitor Lee Myung Bak so that they may understand our position.

As a matter of fact, puppet military gangsters such as Kim Kwan Jin are human rejects not worth becoming targets of the DPRK’s revolutionary armed forces.

We formally inform the White House and Pentagon that the ever-escalating U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and its reckless nuclear threat will be smashed by the strong will of all the united service personnel and people and cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means of the DPRK and that the merciless operation of its revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified.

The U.S. had better ponder over the prevailing grave situation.

 

 

 

Kim Jong Un Convenes Meeting and Orders Strategic Rockets “To be on stand-by”

DPRK state media reported that Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) convened a meeting and signed military operations orders at 00:30 [12:30 am] Korean Standard Time [KST] on 29 March (Friday).  KJU’s last reported public appearance was his attendance on 28 March (Thursday) at a commemorative photo session with participants in a national meeting of Korean People’s Army [KPA] information personnel.  Attending the operations planning meeting were Gen. Hyon Yong Chol (Chief of the KPA General Staff), Col. Gen. Ri Yong Gil (Chief of the KPA General Staff Operations Bureau)**, Gen. Kim Yong Chol (Chief of the Reconnaissance General Bureau and Vice Chief of the KPA General Staff) and Lt. Gen. Kim Rak Gyom (Chief of the KPA Strategic Rocket Force Command).

KCNA reported that “not content with letting B-52 make sorties over south Korea in succession despite the repeated warnings, they made B-2A stealth strategic bomber and other strategic strike means fly from Whiteman air force base in Missouri State, the U.S. over south Korea on March 28 for the first time in history to commit such dangerous provocation as openly staging a drill for striking ground targets of the DPRK” and “fully proves that the brigandish ambition of the U.S. imperialists for aggression to stand in confrontation with the DPRK has reached an extreme phase defying the meaningful warning made by its revolutionary armed forces in the March 26 statement of the Supreme Command of the Korean People’s Army.”  Under these circumstances, DPRK state media reported that Kim Jong Un “convened an urgent operation meeting on the KPA Strategic Rocket Force’s performance of duty for firepower strike at the Supreme Command at 00:30 Friday.”  During the meeting, Gen. Kim Yong Chol briefed KJU “on the information about the nature of action of the nuclear strike means of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces.”  KJU was also briefed by Lt. Gen. Kim Rak Gyom “on the technical conditions of the strategic strike means of the KPA.”  After Lt. Gen. Kim’s brief, according to KCNA, Kim Jong Un “made an important decision.”

KCNA reports:

He said he has judged the time has come to settle accounts with the U.S. imperialists in view of the prevailing situation.

If they make a reckless provocation with huge strategic forces, the KPA should mercilessly strike the U.S. mainland, their stronghold, their military bases in the operational theaters in the Pacific, including Hawaii and Guam, and those in south Korea, he said. He examined and finally ratified the plan of the Strategic Rocket Force for firepower strike.

The U.S. imperialists let B-2A make sorties over south Korea in succession, indicating once again that their hostile acts against the DPRK have entered a reckless phase, going beyond the phase of threat and blackmail, he said.

B-2A’s flight to the sky above south Korea is not a simple demonstration of forces in reaction to the tough stand of the DPRK but an ultimatum that they will ignite a nuclear war at any cost on the Korean Peninsula, he noted, underlining the need to put a definite end to the times when they could threaten and blackmail the DPRK with nukes.

He declared the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK would react to the U.S. nuclear blackmail with a merciless nuclear attack, and war of aggression with an all-out war of justice.

He finally signed the plan on technical preparations of strategic rockets of the KPA, ordering them to be standby for fire so that they may strike any time the U.S. mainland, its military bases in the operational theaters in the Pacific, including Hawaii and Guam, and those in south Korea.

He said the enemies are bringing dark clouds of a nuclear war testing the DPRK’s self-restraint, adding the DPRK can no longer tolerate this. He ordered the KPA to blow up and reduce everything to ashes at a single strike, if an order is issued.

He said the heroic service personnel of the KPA and all other people, their hearts burning with irrepressible resentment at the reckless war provocation moves of the U.S. imperialists, are now waiting for a final order of the WPK Central Committee, hardening their will to turn out in a do-or-die battle with the enemies.

The KPA will never remain a passive onlooker to the U.S. imperialists’ frantic moves for aggression but do its best to defend the destiny of the country and nation, he said.

It is the truth confirmed by history that no force on earth can hold in check the people all out for the just cause, he noted, stressing if an undesired war breaks out on this land again due to the consequences of the unpardonable action of the U.S. imperialists, it will bring them a shameful ruin and the Korean nation will greet the bright day of national reunification.

The important decision made by him under the grave situation where the Korean Peninsula has been pushed to the brink of a nuclear war by the U.S. imperialists will mark a turning point in putting an end to the history of the long-standing showdown with the U.S. and opening a new phase of history.

** Col.. Gen. Ri Yong Gil has been appointed Chief of the KPA General Staff Operation Bureau and ex aequo 1st Vice Chief of the KPA General Staff.  Previously commander of V Army Corps, Col. Gen. Ri replaces Gen. Kim Myong Guk, a member of the Party Central Military Commission and KJI confidante, who held the position twice.

KPA Supreme Command Threatens to “Nullify” Armistice Agreement

DPRK state media reported on 5 March (Tuesday) that a spokesman of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] Supreme Command said that it “will make the Korean Armistice Agreement totaly nullified, that the “Supreme Command of the KPA will completely declare invalid the AA, which has existed for form’s sake from March 11, the day when the war maneuvers will enter into a full-dress stage” and that “this land (the DPRK) is neither the Balkans nor Iraq nor Libya.”  Based on images released in state media the spokesman for the KPA Supreme Command was Gen. Kim Yong Chol, chief of the Reconnaissance General Bureau, which is responsible for anti-ROK [South Korea] intelligence operations.

Parsing the KPA Supreme Command’s statement Glyn Ford told Russia’s RT: “There’s a difference between saying you no longer recognize an armistice and actually starting shooting again. They’re not quite the same thing.”  Ford also said “I think he [Kim Jong-Un] is more likely to be turning away once we get through the next month or so towards looking at economic modernization rather than repeating the missile and the nuclear tests. I could be wrong, of course. It’s very difficult to read North Korea, but it seems to me that that’s where the thinking is.”

According to KCNA’s English-language version of the statement:

On Dec. 12 last year the DPRK legitimately and successfully launched a satellite for peaceful purposes, ensuring international transparency, going beyond practice, and choosing a comparatively mild situation for it.

Seizing the DPRK’s satellite launch as an occasion for stifling it from the outset, the U.S. and its allies deliberately negated the DPRK’s sovereignty over its satellite launch. They finally prodded the UN Security Council into adopting a “resolution on sanctions” before opting for high-handed hostile acts against the DPRK.

These hostile acts are still going on.

Under this situation the DPRK was compelled to take practical counteractions to defend the security and sovereignty of the country. On Feb. 12 it admirably and successfully conducted the third underground nuclear test for self-defence at the highest level as part of those counteractions.

However, the U.S. imperialists and their allied forces including south Korea are making more persistent and desperate efforts to slap new tougher “sanctions” against the DPRK, far from drawing a due lesson.

Not content with this, they kicked off again the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises to stifle the DPRK by force of arms by mobilizing huge armed forces of aggression. They will reportedly last for two months from March 1.

Unlike last year the current joint military exercises will be participated in by super-large nuclear-powered carrier task force carrying at least 100 nuclear warheads, B-52H strategic bombers and other means of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces for making ground, sea and air nuclear strikes and its allied forces including south Korea, U.K. and Australia.

From this point of view, the exercises cannot be construed otherwise than the most dangerous nuclear war maneuvers targeted against the DPRK and the most undisguised military provocation to be made by a group of all hues of hostile forces.

This serious situation clearly indicates that the actions of the U.S., south Korea and other hostile forces to infringe upon the sovereignty of the DPRK are now leading to a military offensive for aggression, going beyond the level of outrageous economic “sanctions.”

In view of the prevailing situation, the Supreme Command of the KPA which is responsible for the national defence and security of the country and the destiny of the nation sent a meaningful warning message to the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces through the KPA Panmunjom mission on February 23. It warned them that if they ignite a war of aggression in the end, from that moment their fate will be hung by a thread with every hour.

But, the joint military exercises have persisted and the U.S. and the south Korean puppet forces have become all the more undisguised in their base moves to kick up their “sanctions.”

Looking back on history, the Korean people have neither shot even a single arrow nor thrown a single stone at the land of the U.S.

The U.S. is, however, working with bloodshot eyes to swallow up the DPRK, not content with having incurred the pent-up grudge of the Korean people which can never be settled.

What matters is that the south Korean puppet forces steeped in worship and sycophancy toward the U.S. are dancing to its tune.

Of late Kim Kwan Jin, puppet minister of Defense, and Jong Sung Jo, chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, inspected frontline army corps, fleet command and guided missile units where they blustered that a sort of military provocation is expected from the north and cried out for making “deadly strikes” and “preemptive strikes” at the “bases for provocations.”

As far as these guys are concerned, they are a group of traitors who pushed the inter-Korean relations to a collapse together with traitor Lee Myung Bak who knows nothing about politics and military affairs. They are military gangsters who go reckless, unaware of what their master U.S. has in mind, what is the intention of the neighbouring countries and what all fellow countrymen and nation desire.

The puppet authorities, too, are crying out for the dismantlement of nukes and halt to provocation as dictated by their master, without knowing what is precious wealth for the nation. They move like a robot and repeat anything like a parrot.

The sovereignty and dignity of the nation are violated and the supreme interests of the country are seriously threatened by the U.S., the sworn enemy of the Korean people, and maniacs of confrontation with fellow countrymen grouping worst traitors. The army and people of the DPRK can never remain a passive onlooker to this fact.

The spokesman for the KPA Supreme Command is authorized to declare the following important measures:

First, it will take the second and third strong practical counteractions in succession to cope with the high-handed war acts of the U.S. and all other hostile forces as it had already declared.

The army and people of the DPRK never make an empty talk.

It is the mettle of Military-First (So’ngun) Korea to do what it is determined to do.

It won victories in the two wars and has advanced along the road of victory despite manifold difficulties.

The army groups on the front, ground forces, the navy, air and anti-air units, strategic rocket units of the KPA, the Worker-Peasant Red Guards and the Young Red Guards have launched an all-out action according to the operational plan finally signed by the dear respected Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un.

Now that the U.S. imperialists seek to attack the DPRK even with nuclear weapons, it will counter them with diversified precision nuclear strike means of Korean style.

Those means are bound to be launched once their buttons are pressed, and the enemies’ strongholds be turned into a sea in flames.

This land is neither the Balkans nor Iraq and Libya.

The army and people of the DPRK have everything including lighter and smaller nukes unlike what they had in the past.

Second, the KPA Supreme Command will make the Korean Armistice Agreement totally nullified.

The war maneuvers being staged by the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet forces are a vivid expression of their systematic violation of the AA.

Accordingly, the Supreme Command of the KPA will completely declare invalid the AA, which has existed for form’s sake from March 11, the day when the war maneuvers will enter into a full-dress stage.

The DPRK will make a strike of justice at any target anytime as it pleases without limit, not bound to the AA, and achieve the great cause of the country’s reunification, the cherished desire of the nation.

Third, the KPA Supreme Command will totally stop the activities of the Panmunjom mission of the KPA which was tentatively established and operated by it as a negotiating body for establishing a peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula.

In this regard it will simultaneously make a decision to cut off the Panmunjom DPRK-U.S. military telephone.

Our choice has become clear now that the moves of all hostile forces to encroach upon the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK are reaching a dangerous phase.

It is the unshakable stand of the army and people of the DPRK and the mode of counteraction of Mt. Paektu style to counter enemies coming in attack with a dagger with a sword, a rifle with an artillery piece and nukes with precision nuclear strike means of Korean style more powerful than them.

The U.S. imperialists and their allies should not forget even a moment that they are standing at the crossroads of their life and death.

A final victory is in store for the army and people of the DPRK who are all out to protect its sovereignty.

KPA Holds Memorial and Loyalty Meeting On KJI Death Anniversary

DPRK state media reported on 17 December (Monday) that the Korean People’s Army [KPA] held a memorial rally on the plaza in front of the Ku’msusan Memorial Palace to commemorate the one year anniversary of the death of Kim Jong Il and to pledge their loyalty to KJI’s son and successor, current DPRK supreme leader Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n).  Attending the rally from the KPA’s high command were Director of the KPA General Political Department (bureau) Choe Ryong Hae, Chief of the KPA General Staff Hyon Yong Chol, Minister of the People’s Armed Forces Kim Kyok Sik and 1st Vice Minister of the People’s Armed Forces and Director of the KPA General Logistics Department Hyon Chol Hae.  Also in attendance were “other officials of the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces” and KPA officers and service members.

The meeting began with “a ceremony of the entrance of the military band of the KPA amid the solemn playing of music “The Leader Will Always Be with Us” and “The General Is Immortal as Sun.” Choe Ryong Hae delivered the keynote speech in which, according to KCNA, he remarked that “all the soldiers who came to the Ku’msusan Palace of the Sun pay high tributes and extend eternal glory to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, reflecting the unanimous wish of all the service personnel and the people” and emphasized “the need to guarantee the national reunification and build a thriving nation with strong arms, true to the behests of the Generalissimos.”

Choe also said:

The KPA will become the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment of today which firmly defends the WPK Central Committee headed by Kim Jong Un and the Ku’msusan Palace of the Sun and the reliable scout party and strong mainstay of the Military-first (so’ngun) revolution which will take the lead in implementing the WPK’s idea and resolution in the air, ground and seas.

With the steadfast stand of “Immediate counterattack to provocation, just war for national reunification to a war of aggression!” the KPA will mercilessly defeat the aggressors and accomplish the historic cause of national reunification if the U.S. imperialists and south Korean group of traitors hurt the dignity and sovereignty of the country even a bit.

We will embody Kim Jong Il’s patriotism and display the spirit of “At one go” in every front of building a thriving nation to erect more edifices and make the happy laughs and hurrah for the WPK resound throughout the country.

After Choe, spoke a series of KPA corps commanders delivered speeches “vowing to remain faithful to Marshal Kim Jong Un.”  Commander of the I Army Corps, Gen. Jang Jong Nam “pledged to always remember the trust given by the supreme commander who named the unit corps of tigers of Mt. Paektu, saying the corps will make the enemies be stunned by its gunfire of annihilating them and turn each ravine into their death pitfall when the hour of decisive battle comes.”  Commander of the II Army Corps, Col. Gen. Kim Hyong Ryong said “the service personnel of the corps will turn the stronghold of the south Korean puppet forces into a sea of flames if they dare slander the dignity of the DPRK even a bit, finding fault with its satellite launch.”  Commander of the V Army Corps, Lt. Gen. Ri Yong Gil said that “that his corps will defeat the enemy aggressors which are stationed within the operational area of the corps at one stroke when it receives the order from the supreme commander.”  Commander of the XI Army Corps, the KPA’s special operations forces, and Party Central Military Commission Member Col. Gen. Choe Kyong Song said that “a-match-for-a-hundred combatants will do whatever they are determined to do and surely win in battles. The world will clearly see how they will put an end to the destiny of the aggressors along the way marked by the red arrow drawn by the Supreme Command.”

KIS, KJI Statues Unveiled at Armed Forces Ministry for Military-First Leadership Anniversary

DPRK state media reported that statues of Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-song) and Kim Jong Il (Kim Chong-il) were unveiled and dedicated on the campus of the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces in Pyongyang at a 24 August (Friday) ceremony.    The statues were constructed to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of KJI’s military-first (songun) leadership.  According to KCNA ,”the statues depict Kim Il Sung with his hands on his waist and his face beaming with a broad smile and smiling Kim Jong Il visualizing a bright future of the new century and wishing Songun Korea eternal prosperity.”

Among the central leadership in attendance at the unveiling ceremony were VMar Choe Ryong Hae (Director of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Political Department [bureau]), VMar Hyon Yong Chol (Chief of the KPA General Staff), Kim Kyong Hui (Korean Workers’ Party Secretary [KWP] for Organization and KJI’s sister), Jang Song Taek (Vice Chairman of the National Defense Commission and Director of the KWP Administration Department), VMar Kim Jong Gak (Minister of the People’s Armed Forces), VMar Kim Yong Chun (Director of the KWP Civil Defense Department),  Kim Ki Nam (KWP Secretary and Director of Propaganda and Agitation), VMar Hyon Chol Hae (Senior Deputy [1st Vice] Minister of the People’s Armed Forces and Director of the KPA General Logistics Department) and Gen. O Kuk Ryol (Vice Chairman of the National Defense Commission), as well as “senior officials of the Ministry, servicepersons, military families, officials and employees of organs that rendered devoted services for the erection of the statues and people in the city.”  The unveiling ceremony was Jang Song Taek’s first reported public appearance since his return from a week-long visit to China at the head of a 50-person delegation of the DPRK-China Joint Guidance Committee.

After the statues’ unveiling, KCNA reported that “the crowds broke into rousing cheers of ‘hurrah,’ a gun salute was fired and balloons soared into the sky beautifully decorating it.”  A variety of floral baskets from the central leadership, KPA high command and KPA units.  VMar Choe Ryong Hae delivered the keynote speech in which he “referred to the immortal exploits the great Generalissimos performed by turning the DPRK into a world-class military power having matchless military capability and enabling it to demonstrate its might as a full-fledged nuclear weapons state.”  KCNA reports:

Statues of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il were erected at the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces on the occasion of August 25 when Kim Jong Il started the Songun revolutionary leadership.

This is a great event which powerfully demonstrated the unshakable will of all service personnel and people to accomplish the cause of the sun generation after generation, holding the commanders of Mt. Paektu in high esteem forever, and translated into a reality the greatest desire of the service personnel of the Korean People’s Army.

The statues depict Kim Il Sung with his hands on his waist and his face beaming with a broad smile and smiling Kim Jong Il visualizing a bright future of the new century and wishing Songun Korea eternal prosperity.

An unveiling ceremony took place on Friday.

Present there were Choe Ryong Hae, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Kyong Hui, Kim Jong Gak, Jang Song Thaek, Kim Yong Chun, Kim Ki Nam, Hyon Chol Hae and O Kuk Ryol, and senior officials of the Ministry, servicepersons, military families, officials and employees of organs that rendered devoted services for the erection of the statues and people in the city.

The statues were unveiled by senior party and army officials.

When they were unveiled, the statues of the great Generalissimos, ever-victorious banner and symbol of victory and glory of Songun Korea, shed their brilliant rays.

That moment the crowds broke into rousing cheers of “hurrah,” a gun salute was fired and balloons soared into the sky, beautifully decorating it.

A floral basket bearing the august name of Supreme Commander Marshal Kim Jong Un was laid before the statues.

Also placed before them were a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the DPRK National Defence Commission and a floral basket in the joint name of the General Staff and the General Political Bureau of the KPA and the Ministry of the People’s Armed Forces.

Hundreds of floral baskets were laid there in the names of the KPA units and sub-units of different levels, military academies and units honored with the field guidance given by the commanders of Mt. Paektu.

All the participants paid high tribute to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

KPA Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, made an unveiling speech.

He referred to the immortal exploits the great Generalissimos performed by turning the DPRK into a world-class military power having matchless military capability and enabling it to demonstrate its might as a full-fledged nuclear weapons state.

The great event of holding an unveiling ceremony of their statues is the brilliant fruition of the noblest sense of moral obligation and wise leadership of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un, he stressed.

He paid highest tribute to the Generalissimos, reflecting the boundless reverence of all the service personnel and people of the country for them and extended the highest glory and warmest thanks to Marshal Kim Jong Un for having opened a new chapter in carrying forward the Songun revolutionary cause of Juche.

A national meeting commemorating the military-first anniversary was convened at 25 April House of Culture on Friday.  Among the central leadership in attendance were Kim Yong Nam (President of the Supreme People’s Assembly Presidium), Choe Yong Rim (DPRK Cabinet Premier), VMar Choe Ryong Hae and VMar Hyon Yong Chol.  VMar Kim Jong Gak delivered the official report.

KCNA reported the gist of VMar Kim’s remarks:

The field guidance provided by Kim Jong Il to Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105 Guards Tank Division of the KPA on August 25, 1960 was a solemn declaration that heralded the brilliant succession to the Songun revolutionary cause.

Kim Jong Il performed immortal feats before the era and revolution, the country and humankind by leading the country to weather grim difficulties of history with his outstanding idea and extraordinary leadership for half a century since he embarked on the road of the Songun revolution, true to the noble intention of President Kim Il Sung.

He adopted the Songun politics as a basic political mode under socialism with his far-sighted wisdom and rare insight at a time when the Korean revolution was facing the worst difficulties. And he embodied it in all fields.

He made sure that party work and activities were oriented to the implementation of the Songun revolutionary line, the trait of giving importance to arms and military affairs prevailed throughout society and state machinery of Korean style with the National Defence Commission as its pivot was established. This was an event of special mention as it provided a sure political and institutional guarantee for enforcing the Songun politics.

He trained the KPA as invincible revolutionary armed forces and made the country emerge a world-level military power and a full-fledged nuclear weapons state.

Under his Songun leadership, the KPA has grown to be the most elite powerful revolutionary army with the transparent spirit of devotedly defending the leader and the DPRK’s national defence industry developed into a powerful defence industry fully capable of producing any cutting-edge weapon.

He placed the unity and cohesion of the revolutionary ranks on the level of single-minded unity of the leader, the party, the army and the people by turning the KPA into the ranks of comrades who share destiny with the Supreme Commander and achieving the perfect unity of the army and people in thinking and fighting spirit.

The single-minded unity has become steel-strong at a time when the unity between the officers and men and combination of military and political affairs have become a shining reality in the whole army and the trait of army-people unity is given full play throughout society. This is the greatest wealth and the highest pride that can never be bartered for anything.

Kim Jong Il unrolled a grandiose blueprint for building a thriving nation during the Arduous March, forced march and led the KPA to make a breakthrough on major fronts of socialist construction and all the people to learn from the revolutionary soldier spirit. This made a high-pitched drive for great innovations and a great leap forward sweep throughout the country.

Marvelous events unprecedented in the 5 000-year-long history of the nation took place one after another thanks to his forced marches for field guidance, an indication of his love for the country and its people.

Satellites were put into the space, CNC-based machine tools mass-produced, Juche-oriented production systems established, monumental edifices, icons of the 21st century, appeared in different parts of the country and a new heyday was ushered in the construction of socialist culture.

His Songun revolutionary leadership and Songun politics resulted in the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration based on the idea of “By our nation itself” and the opening of a new phase in the country’s reunification movement. They, at the same time, put strong spurs to firmly defending the peace and security in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world and promoting the human cause of independence.

The reporter said that the Songun revolutionary cause of Juche is making steady advance without an inch of deflection thanks to the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un.

We should build a thriving socialist nation on this land at an early date and achieve the independent reunification of the country and final victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche by upholding the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Un with loyalty.

All party members, service personnel and people should hold Kim Jong Un in high esteem as the center of the unity and leadership, resolutely protect him politically and ideologically and with their lives in any adversity and unite close around him.

Our revolutionary armed forces are fully ready to fight decisive battles after occupying battle positions to cope with the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean warmongers’ reckless maneuvers to provoke a war of aggression.

Upon receiving a combat order given by the Supreme Commander, the army and the people of the DPRK are firmly determined to fulfill it. If the enemy fires even a single shell at the territory of the DPRK, they will not miss the golden opportunity but deal prompt deadly blows at the enemy and wage a sacred war for national reunification.

KPA Sends Notice Protesting Ulchi Freedom Guardian Exercises

DPRK state media reported on 6 August (Monday) that Major General Pak Rim Su, head of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] Mission at P’anmunjo’m sent a notice protesting the upcoming, annual joint US-ROK exercises Ulchi-Freedom Guardian [UFG].  KCNA reports:

The situation in the Korean Peninsula and its vicinity has reached an extreme pitch of tension owing to the reckless war maneuvers of the belligerent forces to be staged in different parts of South Korea in the wake of their attempted monstrous state-sponsored, politically-motivated terrorism aimed at hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK.

The U.S. imperialists are so foolish as to stage such a burlesque as sending a “prior notice” to the Korean People’s Army side through the bogus “UN Forces Command” while claiming Ulji Freedom Guardian is an “annual and defensive one” in a bid to conceal its aggressive nature.

All facts go to clearly prove that the scenario of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet regime to seize the DPRK by force of arms at any cost has reached a phase of full-fledged implementation.

In view of this prevailing situation, Pak Rim Su, chief of the Panmunjom Mission of the KPA, Monday sent the following protest notice clarifying the stand of the KPA to James D. Sherman, commander of the U.S.-South Korea Combined Forces: The U.S. is now working hard to paint the aggressive and offensive nature of Ulji Freedom Guardian joint war exercises against the DPRK as “annual and defensive” while contemplating staging them together with South Korea. It is also making a serious mockery of the DPRK by sending “a prior notice allegedly based on trust and transparency”.

It is hostile towards the DPRK behind the scene while publicly uttering it had no intention to invade the DPRK. Not content with this behavior, the U.S. hatched a plot to perpetrate the above-said terrorism and is escalating the war maneuvers against the DPRK. This is the U.S. hostile policy toward it.

The army and people of the DPRK have grown stronger in their will to take revenge on the U.S.

Clear is the stand of the DPRK on the projected joint military exercises. This was fully reflected in a statement issued by a spokesman for the DPRK National Defence Commission on July 29.

Their reckless saber-rattling against the DPRK would get nothing but disgrace and self- destruction.

The DPRK once again clearly states the KPA will never deal with the “UN Forces Command” which exists in name only.

This is the reply of the KPA to the U.S.

KPA General Staff Issues “Ultimatum” Threatening ROK media institutions and leadership

The Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Staff published in DPRK state media what it termed an “open ultimatum” on Monday (4 June) which said, “Officers and men of the army corps, divisions and regiments on the front and strategic rocket forces in the depth of the country are loudly calling for the issue of order to mete out punishment” to South Korean media organizations.  The General Staff’s statement, a reaction to commentary in South Korean media about the convocation of the Korean Children’s Union’s 66th anniversary conference, also lambasted South Korea’s current political leadership.

The General Staff of the Korean People’s Army said the country’s troops have been targeting the Seoul headquarters of the Chosun Ilbo at coordinates of 37 degrees 56 minutes 83 seconds North latitude and 126 degrees 97 minutes 65 seconds East longitude. It also revealed the coordinates of the JoongAng Ilbo and Dong-a Ilbo newspapers, as well as the KBS, MBC and SBS television stations and CBS radio.

It is the first time the North has released coordinates of intended targets in South Korea.

“We would like to ask the Lee group if it wants to leave all this to be struck by the (North) or opt for apologizing and putting the situation under control, though belatedly,” the General Staff said in an English-language ultimatum, referring to South Korean President Lee Myung-bak.

Seoul, the South Korean capital city of more than 10 million people and home to South Korean media headquarters, is within range of North Korea’s artillery and rockets.

“If the Lee group recklessly challenges our army’s eruption of resentment, it will retaliate against it with a merciless sacred war of its own style as it has already declared,” the General Staff said in the ultimatum carried by the North’s official Korean Central News Agency.

It also warned the North is “fully ready for everything” and “time is running out.”

South Korea defended its media reports on its communist neighbor, saying freedom of the press is a basic right guaranteed in free and democratic countries around the world.

The South Korean government said in a statement it “will maintain a posture to immediately cope with any North Korean provocation.” A South Korean military official said no particular movements in the North Korean military have been observed.

Also Monday, Unification Ministry spokesman Kim Hyung-suk urged the North to immediately stop threatening the South’s media outlets. He said the North’s threat was a grave “provocation” against South Korea’s free and democratic system.

There is no freedom of the press in North Korea where authorities use state media as a propaganda tool to strengthen personality cults of the country’s leaders.

The North’s latest threat was in response to some South Korean media reports critical of the North’s celebration of the Korean Children’s Union (KCU) under way in Pyongyang.

About 20,000 North Korean children pledged their allegiance to Kim as the North began a six-day festival on Sunday to mark the 66th anniversary of the KCU, according to Pyongyang’s state media.

Some South Korean media dismissed the celebration as part of the North’s attempt to win support for Kim, who took over the country following the December death of his father, long-time leader Kim Jong-il.

Channel A, a television arm of the Dong-a Ilbo newspaper, likened Kim to the late German dictator Adolf Hitler over the anniversary celebration.

The North has long bristled at any outside criticism of its leader and has made similar threats against the South over the past several months, although no actual attack has occurred.

South Korea has repeatedly vowed to avenge any North Korean attacks following two attacks by the North in 2010 that killed 50 South Koreans, mostly soldiers.

The General Staff of the Korean People’s Army sent the following open ultimatum to the south Korean group of traitors on Monday:

The celebrations of the 66th anniversary of the Korean Children’s Union are now taking place in the revolutionary capital of Pyongyang with splendor.

They are a great political festival of children unprecedented not only in the history of the Korean nation but in the long history of mankind.

As many as 20 000 delegates of school children have come to Pyongyang on invitation from all parts of the country, including remote villages and solitary islands.

It was the noble outlook of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on the younger generation and the future that they showed paternal loving care and solicitude for them, calling them kings of the country. This outlook has been steadfastly carried forward by the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

All the service members and people are immensely excited and pleased with this stirring reality.

The world is becoming envious of the DPRK, noting that such great event can take place in socialist Korea only.

But it is only the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors in south Korea that is chilling the atmosphere of these auspicious events of the children.

From May 29 the group set in motion Chosun Ilbo, Choongang Ilbo, “A channel” of Dong-A Ilbo, KBS, CBS, MBC, SBS and other media to launch a campaign defaming the above-said celebrations. It went the lengths of resorting to a new campaign of hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK, availing itself of this opportunity.

The children of the kindergarten in magnificent and modern Changjon Street were so happy as to have a photo taken with Kim Jong Un and sons and daughters of ordinary working people are participating in the above-said celebrations. However, the Lee group is letting loose a string of vituperations describing all these blessings as “charades intentionally orchestrated” by the supreme leadership of the DPRK.

The auspicious political festival was opened amid joy and cheers of three million of schoolchildren, hailed by their fathers and mothers throughout the country. The group, however, is playing down it as “events for publicity stunt,” “events to win popularity”, “events to curry favor with them.” It made no scruple of letting loose a spate of such invectives as deliberately hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK, describing the great inheritance of the love for the younger generation and the future as “act of imitating gesture and copying after Hitler” and “the north’s staging of a political show as that staged by the Nazis to train the Juvenile Corps.

And the Lee group went the lengths of describing the unblemished naive schoolchildren as “children on markets” more familiar with capitalist markets than socialist policies and “mere children knowing nothing about the world”.

This is a new form of evil action hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK. It is a thrice-cursed criminal act as it is a monstrous mud-slinging at the rosy future of our revolution.

There is no country in the world as the DPRK which projects children as kings of the country.

When babies are born, they are taken care of at palaces of babies and children are rapidly growing at children’s palaces, bringing their talents into full bloom. They are leading such blessed lives under the immensely profound loving care of the great persons of Mt. Paektu, something rare to be found in any other parts of the world.

It was President Kim Il Sung who brought up all the children under his deep care with the noblest viewpoint on the younger generation and the future, despite snow and rain. It was leader Kim Jong Il who saw off the children leaving for their camps while starting his journey to the front along rugged roads in adversity.

It was Kim Jong Un who visited the Mangyongdae Revolutionary School on the New Year’s Day and put forward its children as future pillars.

It was thanks to this profound care of the sun that the children were provided with ampler opportunities of learning and flags of the Children’s Union fluttered more vigorously over their camps under the clean and blue sky of the country even under the difficult situation where its people had to fasten their belts in manifold adversity.

Children are the future of the country and a symbol of hope and victory.

The above-said vituperation let loose by the group of traitors is nothing but a shriek made by the group, utterly discomfited by the bright future of the supreme headquarters of the DPRK and rosy future of the younger generation.

From olden times, idiots are apt to see everything quite different from a reality.

It is quite natural that the group of traitors branded as fools, idiots and blockheads can hardly see the present world correctly.

If it is not true, how can the group describe the great inheritance of our nation as “imitation” and compare the children who would shoulder upon themselves the future of the nation with the juvenile organization of fascist Hitler?

As for Hitler, he was the fascist fanatic who drove guiltless humankind into pitfalls of disasters and death, special class war criminal who destroyed his country and nation and die-hard tyrant who had no love for its children.

The south Korean people had already branded the worst traitor Lee as a notorious “Hitler Lee” and burned the traitor in effigy in Nazi uniform, bearing the same moustache as Hitler’s as he has been hell-bent on mercilessly suppressing the protestors at the point of bayonet and enforcing an unpopular rule.

It is said that one’s wrong tongue-lashing is as harmful as a sword cutting off one’s head.

Upon hearing the news that the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK and slandered its loved children, the officers and men of the three services of the KPA are expressing towering resentment and pledging themselves as one to resolutely settle accounts by force of arms with those who violated the moral law of the nation and defamed the great man whom the people follow and the world look up to.

Officers and men of the army corps, divisions and regiments on the front and strategic rocket forces in the depth of the country are loudly calling for the issue of order to mete out punishment, declaring that they have already targeted Chosun Ilbo at coordinates of 37 degrees 56 minutes 83 seconds North Latitude and 126 degrees 97 minutes 65 seconds East Longitude in the Central District, Seoul, Choongang Ilbo at coordinates of 37 degrees 33 minutes 45 seconds North Latitude and 126 degrees 58 minutes 14 seconds East Longitude in the Central District, Seoul, the Dong-A Ilbo at coordinates of 37 degrees 57 minutes 10 seconds North Latitude and 126 degrees 97 minutes 81 seconds East Longitude in Jongro District, Seoul, KBS, CBS, MBC and SBS, the strongholds of the Lee group orchestrating the new vicious smear campaign.

In view of this grave situation the KPA General Staff sends the following ultimatum to the Lee group of traitors:

The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK are the army of the supreme commander and the people’s army which is devotedly defending the supreme commander and protecting his idea and the people and children whom he values and loves so much.

It is the iron will of the army of the DPRK that the dens of heinous provocateurs hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK and desecrating its idea, system and people should not be allowed to exist as they are.

We would like ask the Lee group if it wants leave all this to be struck by the DPRK or opt for apologizing and putting the situation under control, though belatedly.

It should take a final choice by itself.

Now it is impossible for the officers and men of the KPA three services to keep back their towering resentment any longer. In case dens of monstrous crimes are blown up one after another, the Lee group will be entirely held responsible for this.

If the Lee group recklessly challenges our army’s eruption of resentment, it will retaliate against it with a merciless sacred war of its own style as it has already declared.

We are fully ready for everything.
