DPRK Premier Choe Yong Rim Visits Farms and Chemical Complex

DPRK state media reported on 23 July (Monday) that DPRK Premier Choe Yong Rim visited Namhu’ng Youth Chemical Complex in South P’yo’ngan Province and farms in  North Hwanghae Province and east Pyongyang.  Choe’s last reported public appearance was his attendance at a “congratulatory meeting” of Pyongyang citizens after Kim Jong Un’s elevation to Marshal at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium on 19 July (Thursday).  At the chemical complex, Choe “convened a consultative meeting, after acquainting himself with the construction of power transmission and supply grid.”  According to KCNA he said, “the workers of the complex are registering achievements in fertilizer production through technological updating of production processes to glorify the undying exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and implement the idea of the party for building a thriving nation.”

Choe also visited the Oryu Farm in east Pyongyang where “he learned about the problems arising in vegetable production.”  He also visited Taechon Farm in North Hwanghae Province where according to KCNA “he took measures for solving the problems arising in putting the farming on a scientific and technological basis, despite the unfavorable weather conditions.”  KCNA reports:

He convened a consultative meeting, after acquainting himself with the construction of power transmission and supply grid.

The meeting discussed the issues of supplying sufficient electricity to the complex and organized the work for completing the power grid construction at the earliest possible date.

He also looked round the Oryu Vegetable Co-op Farm in Sadong District, Pyongyang.

He met farmers who work with devotion for agricultural production with patriotism, and admired their achievements. He learned about the problems arising in vegetable production.

Prior to this, he toured the Taechon Farm in Rinsan County, North Hwanghae Province.

He learned about the farm which is turning mountains to good account and managing its economic life more assiduously, true to the idea of Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un on land management.

He took measures for solving the problems arising in putting the farming on a scientific and technological basis despite the unfavorable weather conditions.
