DPRK state media reported that Jang Song Taek (Chang So’ng-t’aek), Vice Chairman of the National Defense Commission [NDC], departed Pyongyang for China on 13 August (Monday) at the head of a delegation from the DPRK-China Joint Guidance Committee. According to KCNA this will be the committee’s third meeting and will “discuss the joint development and joint management of Rason Economic Trade Zone and Hwanggumphyong and Wihwado Economic Zone.” KCNA reports:
A delegation of the DPRK-China Joint Guidance Committee Monday left here for Beijing, China to take part in the third meeting of the committee.
It was headed by its DPRK side Chairman Jang Song Thaek who is a department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
The meeting is reportedly to discuss the joint development and joint management of Rason Economic Trade Zone and Hwanggumphyong and Wihwado Economic Zone.
