DPRK state media reported on 4 October (Friday) that DPRK Cabinet Premier Choe Yong Rim attended a ceremony for the expansion of the Taedonggang Building Materials Factory. KCNA reported that the factory “upgraded capacity will enable the factory to produce dozens of kinds of building materials and distribute them to major construction sites including those in Pyongyang.” During the ceremony a message from the Korean Workers’ Party [KWP] Central Committee was read. According to KCNA the message “highly praised the merited workers, technicians and officials of the factory for changing their factory into another edifice by displaying popular heroism and matchless devotion, keeping in mind pure faith in the party and leader and ardent patriotism.” KCNA reported that Jang Su Gil, a KWP economic department deputy (vice) director delivered the ceremony’s opening speech. Jang Su Gil attended Kim Jong Un’s visit to the Taedonggang Tile Factory in early September.
