DPRK state media reported on 26 November (Monday) that Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) attended a commemorative photo session with participants at a national meeting of social security and People’s Security officials. KJU’s last reported public appearance was his visit to the Ministry of State Security on the anniversary of its foundation. KCNA reported that KJU “warmly congratulated the participants in the national meeting and all the people’s security personnel who have devotedly worked for the party and the leader, the country and its people on an invisible front, waging a war without gun report against the enemies of the revolution making desperate efforts to bring down Korean-style socialism.”
Attending the commemorative photo session with him were VMar Choe Ryong Hae (Director of the Korean People’s Army General Political Department [bureau]), Jang Song Taek (Vice Chairman of the National Defense Commission and Director of the Korean Workers’ Party [KWP] Administration Department), Kim Ki Nam (KWP Secretary and Director of the Propaganda and Agitation [publicity and information] Department), Gen. Ri Myong Su (Minister of People’s Security) and Col. Gen. Ri Pyong Sam (Director of the Korean People’s Internal Security Forces’ Political Bureau).
Kim Jong Un “had a photo taken with the participants in the national meeting after highly praising them for having safeguarded the lifeline of the Juche-oriented revolution and reliably defended the outpost of class struggle under the uplifted banner of devotedly defending the leader in the glorious and trying days under the leadership of the party.” According to KCNA, KJU “expressed expectation and belief that all the people’s security personnel and officers and men of the Korean People’s Internal Security Forces would creditably fulfill their honorable mission and duty as the revolutionary armed forces of our party and the internal security forces of the Supreme Commander.”
