DPRK state media reported on 3 July (Wednesday) that Director of the Korean People’s Army [KPA] General Political Department VMar Choe Ryong Hae visited three construction projects in the Pyongyang area. Choe’s on-site tours to the construction of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation (Korea) War Museum, the KPA fallen fighters’ cemetery and apartment housing followed up recent visits made by Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n), which Choe did not attend. According to KCNA Choe Ryong Hae “encouraged soldier-builders” and he “underscored the need to ensure speed and quality of the structures.” Choe was briefed about the construction of apartment housing which have been earmarked for “scientists.” He “stressed the need to build apartment houses for scientists to be impeccable in the distant future” and “took measures to dynamically conduct frontline-style agitation activities and substantially provide materials needed for construction.”
