The DPRK National Defense Commission [NDC] hosted a banquet at the Koryo Hotel in central Pyongyang on 25 July (Thursday) for delegations of Chinese People’s Volunteers [CPV] who served in the Fatherland Liberation War (Korean War) and their family members.  VMar Kim Yong Chun, Vice Chairman of the NDC, attended the event along with Korean People’s Army [KPA] generals and officers, CPV delegation members and personnel of the PRC Embassy in the DPRK.  According to KCNA, VMar Kim, speaking on behalf of the DPRK, said “that the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War is associated with the blood shed by the brave fighters of the CPV who fought on the Korean fronts in hearty response to the call of Mao Zedong, the great leader of the Chinese people, and the Chinese party and government” and that Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) “is paying deep attention to boosting the DPRK-China friendship, true to the high intention of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.  The DPRK will as ever make joint efforts with Chinese comrades to further develop the bilateral friendly relations.”  Former commander of Chinese People’s Liberation Army [PLA] Air Force Yu Zhenwu said “the Chinese people fought shoulder to shoulder with the Korean people and won a victory in the struggle against the common enemies, holding high the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland, and thus made the U.S. imperialists sign the document of the Armistice Agreement” and he “expressed belief that the Sino-DPRK friendship sealed in blood thanks to the joint efforts of the two peoples would steadily grow strong in the future, too.”
