DPRK Premier Visits Namp’o and Kim Jong T’ae Locomotive Factory

DPRK state media reported on April 10 (Monday) that Premier Pak Pong Ju (Pak Pong-chu) visited Namp’o and the Kim Jong T’ae Locomotive Factory.  In Namp’o, learned about the operation and production of several factories including Namp’o Welding Rod Factory.

He also toured the Kim Jong T’ae Locomotive Factory to “learn in detail about the manufacture of electric locomotives” and the maintenance and repair of railway carriages.  He held a meeting with factory managers and employees which “underlined the duty and important role of the complex to play in accelerating the modernization of railways and settling the acute shortage of railway freight transportation.”  This “consultative meeting” also “took measures for technically updating the complex on a long-term basis, ensuring cultural refinement of electric locomotives and passenger trains and supplying steel materials, electric power, etc., need of the field of railway transport.”
