Ceremony Held Marking Completion of Industrial Upgrades at Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex

A ceremony marking the upgrading of an oxygen furnace and other industrial upgrades at Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex was held at the complex in Songrim, North Hwanghae, on May 24 (Tuesday).  Attending the ceremony was Pak Pong Ju (DPRK Premier), O Su Yong (Workers’ Party of Korea [WPK] Vice Chairman and Member of the WPK Executive Policy Council), Kim Yong Gwan (Minister of Metallurgical Industry), Pak T’ae Dok (Chairman of the North Hwanghae WPK Provincial committee), Im Hun (Chairman of the North Hwanghae Provincial People’s Committee), other WPK and DPRK government officials and managers and employees of the iron and steel complex.

Pak Pong Ju delivered a speech in which he said the “completion of the the projects is the precious fruition of the efforts made by President Kim Il Sung (Kim Il-so’ng) and leader Kim Jong Il (Kim Cho’ng-il) to put the metallurgical industry on a Chuch’e basis and the wise guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un (Kim Cho’ng-u’n) who put forward the Korean working class as the Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il working class and has led them to create the Mallima speed.”  Pak called “upon the workers of the complex to full display the heroic spirit of the Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il working class in hearty response to the basic spirit of the Seventh Congress of the WPK and bring about uninterrupted innovations, advance and offensive and thus make a positive contribution to brining earlier the final victory of the building of a thriving socialist nation.”  After the speaking program, participants toured the new facilities.
