Pak Pong Ju Visits Metal Industrial Field

DPRK state media reported August 24 (Wednesday), DPRK Priemer Pak Pong Ju visited the Kim Ch’aek Iron and Steel Complex, the Ch’o’ngjin Steel Plant, the Puryo’ng Ferroalloy Factory and the Musan Mining Complex to learn “about production and capacity expansion projects.” He had consultative meetings with the officials involved which underscored the importance of the  “duties assumed by the metal industrial field in implementing the strategic line of building an economic power set forth by the Party, and discussed issues of further expanding the achievements made by factories and enterprises in the field in putting production processes on a Chuch’e and modern basis.”

During the meeting “measures were taken to increase the production of iron and steel…keep equipment for mining and conveying ores in full operation and providing quality electricity.” According to KCNA, Pak also toured Hoeryo’ng City, the Ranam Coal-mining Machine Complex and the Kyo’ngsong Insulator Factory.
