The Czech Embassy in the DPRK and the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries [KCCRFC] marked the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Czech Republic at the DPRK-Czech Friendship Pot’onggang District Segori Senior Secondary School in Pyongyang on 8 August (Thursday). The friendship and cultural event was sponsored by Czech Embassy in the DPRK, the KCCRFC and the DPRK-Czech Friendship Association. Attending the event were Czech Ambassador to the DPRK Dušan Štrauch, KCCRFC Department Director and Chairman of the DPRK-Czech Friendship Association Ryu Kyong Il, DPRK officials, Czech Embassy personnel and students and faculty member of the school. According to KCNA, event participants “were briefed on the history of the school before looking round its educational facilities and Czech children’s paintings” and “talked to one another about the need to boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.” The participants also watched a concert and art performance given by the school’s students.
