Kim Kyo’ng-chin

Kim Kyo’ng-chin is daughter and oldest child from Kim Il-so’ng’s marriage to second (or third) wife, Kim So’ng-ae.

Kim Kyo’ng-chin was born in Pyongyang in 1951 or 1952.  She attended Kim Il-so’ng University.  In the 1970s she married Kim Kwang-so’p, at that time a popular professor at KISU.

In the early 1980s she gave birth to a son and daughter.  From 1984 to 1987, Kim Kyo’ng-chin, Kim Kwang-so’p and their children resided in Prague while he served as DPRK Ambassador to the former Czechoslovakia.  They returned to the DPRK in 1987 where they lived for three more years until Kim Kwang-so’p became a DPRK Ambassador At-large to central and east Europe.  They have not consistently lived in their home country since 1990, although she returns to the DPRK annually.

Kim Kyo’ng-chin and her husband currently reside outside Vienna, where he currently serves as DPRK Ambassador to Austria.
