DPRK state media reported that visiting delegation of Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, led by Gen. Joaquin Quinta Sola, met Minister of the People’s Armed Forces, VMar Kim Jong Gak on 8 September (Saturday). Also attending the meeting were “KPA generals and officers, the Cuban ambassador and a Cuban military attache.” According to KCNA, Gen. Sola “asked Kim Jong Gak for conveying the greetings Raul Castro Ruz, president of the Council of State and president of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, sent to Kim Jong Un, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People’s Army.” Gen. Sola also “expressed his will to make contribution to further developing the friendly and cooperative relations between the armies and peoples of the two countries.”
Gen. Sola and the Cuban military delegation also visited Kim Il Sung’s birthplace and childhood home in Mangyo’ngdae. The Cubans also visited the Korean People’s Army [KPA] Museum of Arms and Equipment, located nearby, and attended a performance of Arirang.
